We have done light painting twice in 2015 here and here and also second week of 2016 here
Basically this is a technique that involves lowering the shutter speed of your camera to a point it can record light. In our setup the light we want to record is a small LED light that we move around.
shutter speed 30 sec Aperture 5.6 ISO 100
We started by trying to create patterns.
Then we started having some fun.
A few test first.
different strength LED torch.
Happy with the results.
Requirements:
- DSLR camera with long exposure capability
- Tripod
- Trigger
- LED light or very small torch
Place camera on tripod, set up area of focus and lock focus by disabling auto focus on lens.
Set trigger mechanism and in front of the camera use LED light to draw while shutter is open.
We advocate a lot of trial and error in this experiment.
we don’t take pictures, we capture moments.
