Abstract Photography

Abstract | ab-stract | adjective | of art : Expressing ideas and emotions by using elements such as colors and lines without attempting to create a realistic picture.

Getting out of your comfort zone, subject and/or type of photography is one of an ideal way of learning and enhancing the art of photography, so we gave it a shot at abstract photography see how we did.

We began here using out of focus to create an image.

We then tried going macro for more detail in the image.

Texture and patterns.

Black and White Photography

180217 0002

This type of photography is also known as monochrome photography.

Monochrome photography is photography where each position on an image can record and show a different amount of light, but not a different hue. It includes all forms of black-and-white photography, which produce images containing tones of neutral grey ranging from black to white. Other hues besides grey, such as sepia, cyan or brown can also be used in monochrome photography. In the contemporary world, monochrome photography is mostly used for artistic purposes and certain technical imaging applications, rather than for visually accurate reproduction of scenes. source:wikpedia

It is a pretty complex type of photography since one aspect has been omitted, colour.

We gave it a try see how we did.

Blur Photography

We have been working on the blur project for awhile now.

The concept is creating images that are intentionally out of focus, to use as backgrounds for graphical verbose messages one may want to portray and here are some of what we have done.

Enjoy:

They are all nature images, here are some of the clear ones.

Here is how to use our blur images below.

Contact us for more on this and/or any photography project, we listen, we deliver.

WEEK 45 – Roses

A rose is a woody perennial flowering plant of the genus Rosa, in the family Rosaceae, or the flower it bears. There are over a hundred species and thousands of cultivars.

Some of the major uses of roses are

  • Ornamental plants
  • Cut flowers
  • Perfume
  • Food and drink
  • Medicine
  • In culture used as art and symbolism

Red
Red roses are the traditional symbol for love, romance, and will always be a way to say “I love you.” The red rose has also reflected beauty and perfection. Deep or dark red roses can reveal an unconscious beauty.

Pink
Words like admiration, gentleness, grace, gladness, joy and sweetness are just a few ways to describe the meaning behind the pink rose. A pink rose can also convey happiness, gracefulness and admiration.

Yellow
Bright, cheerful and joyful are what come to mind when thinking of a yellow rose. Yellow roses create warm feelings and provide happiness. Giving yellow roses can tell someone the joy they bring you and the friendship you share.

White
White roses, the purist of colors, represent innocence, purity and charm. White roses are traditionally used in weddings and can represent new beginnings. We believe that white roses can also express remembrance and innocence.

Orange
Orange roses evoke energy, and can indicate enthusiasm, desire and excitement. Giving orange roses can symbolize your passionate romance and share your excitement of the relationship with your loved one.

Lavender
Love at first sight or just an enchanting way to say, “I love you!” Lavender roses can offer a daily reminder of your love and eagerness to grow your relationship.

Salmon
A slightly pinker shade of orange, the meaning behind salmon-colored roses evoke the same message as orange roses. Salmon roses can indicate enthusiasm, desire and excitement. Give salmon roses as a way to share your desire for someone; and they’ll know how you truly feel.

Peach
Are you grateful for someone or just want to show your appreciation? Then consider giving a peach-colored rose. A bouquet of peach roses shows your deep appreciation and gratitude or just an elegant way to say “Thank You!”

Cream
Cream roses are indicative of charm and thoughtfulness. They go well with pink “thank you” roses which allow you to send two messages in one bunch!

Green
Green is the color of life, abundant growth, and constant renewal of life and energy. The green rose signifies the constant rejuvenation of spirit, and is therefore a messenger of cheerfulness.

Sometimes the numbers say everything…

  • A single rose of any color depicts the utmost devotion or a way to say “thank you”
  • Two roses entwined together communicate “marry me” (a red and white rose entwined means unity)
  • Six Roses signify a need to be loved or cherished
  • Eleven roses assure the recipient they are truly and deeply loved
  • Thirteen roses indicate a secret admire

WEEK 31 – Group Photos [RGB]

This week we had a group as our client who needed some interesting photographs referred to us by a previous client. It was our first try doing a group photo shoot.

Our set up was a green flat grassy area, a prime lens, an assistant and of course the client.Since all colours are made from the three primary colours Red Green and Blue that was our basic concept of the shoot.

Enjoy.
